Hopeful Memories Poem by Jon Edward Walker

Hopeful Memories

Rating: 5.0

I watched you
walking in front of me
up the stairs of my youth
my mind is hopeful
the future,
our future
is limitless.
our love is still
pure
it’s a long time
until you will hit me,
curse at me
try to break bottles over me
many nights
and months
we will have good times
and trust in each other
until then.
I will still have pictures
of you how I want you to be
how you want me to be
our love and
my hope.

Jon, I really like this one. I think anyone who's been in a relationship gone bad can open that dirty window of reality and look back onto happier, more hopeful times. -chuck
