Hornets Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Hornets

Chewed wood fiber mixed with saliva
Are how their nests are made.
Simple in their construction,
Hanging mostly in some shade.

They last for only one summer.
All freeze to death in the fall.
They have very potent stingers.
Males die after their mating call.

God has used these tiny predators,
To move His children along!
For sometimes people are stubborn
Or running away from their wrongs.

He does not compel us to answer His call,
Or even obey a command.
But making us willing to give of our all,
Well, His hornets sometimes lend a hand!
