How To Love God Poem by Michael P. Johnson

How To Love God

How does one love The risen King?
Embrace what none can see
Is it through songs of love we sing?
Or praise on bended knee

How can we touch The living Lord?
Cuddle our God on high
Surely no kiss can this afford
However hard we try

Through praise we touch the heart God?
Stretching out hands in love
Although the world may think it odd
What Heaven delights above

Though worldly blind may wonder why
The lost may think it odd
The spiritual worship churches cry
Can move the heart of God

Our daily worship, heartfelt praise
Shedding selfless tears
Can so stir The Ancient Of Days
To rid our worldly fears

Can touch a soul, can melt a heart
Bring sight unto the blind
Can make the devil swiftly part
And heal a troubled mind

But one thing all should understand
Upon our way above
Obedience is the Lord’s command
The way to show our love

Love your neighbour, begrudge no foe
Give free of Heaven’s share
Consult your God where’re you go
And show you really care
