How Unlike I Am To All These Silence? Poem by RIC BASTASA

How Unlike I Am To All These Silence?

Rating: 5.0

How can all these creatures
live and survive in a place where
they are not in talking terms?

how can a butterfly flutter and hover
from one flower to another without
singing?

the beautiful garden must be enough
the blue sky, the soft rain, the green bushes,
the flowering trees, clean air,
and just like them the beautiful silence of the sands.

how unlike i am to all these silence?
and so i have decided to leave.
