Humanity Poem by Raymond Farrell

Humanity

Rating: 5.0

We do not comprehend
The eternal flow
Of matter and energy
So we have invented ways
Of trying
To define it
Through units of time
This survival technique
We try to pass off
As being clever
When really
We are frightened
And delusional
About our place
In the universe.

Is it each to choose their way according to their understanding? And with each new insight, growth...we realign ourselves and our techniques and carry on? Isn't the delusion in the judgement of others? Go with the flow and let others do so also.

I have talked about apples. You wish to talk about oranges. Judging other people and comprehending the universe are different subjects. The Law of Gravity, for example, and other concepts of physics that allow for an understanding of how the universe works, are axioms not some vague subjective choice.

Quite right! The universe remains a mystery. Nice poem!
