Hunted? Poem by Phil Soar

Hunted?

Mystified,
The heartbeat faster at the thought of terror
Staring,
Wondering if the killer would pounce
Sweating,
As the prospect of flight or fight was evident
Humming,
To try and circumvent my fear
Deciding,
What the options are
Running,
Not looking back for fear it might be following
Collapsing,
As my heart could not take anymore
Waking,
To realise it was all a dream
And I felt a fool
