Hurricane
I listened as I lay next to him,
To the sound of his heart,
I held him as the thunder begin,
Counting every beat from the start.
Watching him as he slept,
While the storms flourished,
As the floods wept,
My soul he nourished.
I heard everything upon the wind as it blew,
I saw his soul as it rained,
My life told a story that it always knew,
Of who we were through the eyes of love in the hurricane!
