Hushed Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Hushed

Hushed

Carefully watched, listened,
Saw him when read poem…

Everything was for sale,
Even wife, son, daughter.

I hushed me, just listened,
Embarrassed and ashamed!

Sani, was the poet,
I guess and consider.

His words were like comets,
And the swords and daggers.

To me Afghan never
Is foreign, or other,
Is sister, brother…

Forced we are, live apart,
On their wound I feel salt.

Look at our bodies, limbs,
And our past, history,
Shared heroes, language,
We are of single corpse.

Like hands of Guevara,
Of body, were cut off
And thrown in the trash!

This border is the wall
That cut us like a knife,
By Britain, Russia…

Curse be on these devils,
That for long, and still
Have put us on fire…

We must live united,
Love and solve problems.
