Hustle Bustle, Come And Go Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Hustle Bustle, Come And Go

I awoke to radiant splendour
Blue skies were crystal clear,
Golden rays glistened thro' the trees
In late autumn of the year.

Crimson roses, slender and tall
Swayed in the fresh morning air.
A pair of white doves had fallen in love
Mother nature was never as fair!

But suddenly, the picture changed
As traffic rushed 'to and fro'.
Quiet serenity had flown...
There was 'hustle bustle come and go'.

Children were shouting up yonder
And oh those road drills and 'planes.
Deafening noises spread for miles
From the rattle and clatter of cranes.

That's life ~ as we have to live it.
Reality endured by everyone.
But a peaceful dawning will shine again
Tomorrow, in the late autumn sun.
