I Am A Poet Poem by James T. Karam

I Am A Poet

I am a poet
Whom the readers
Ignore

I am the link
Between your souls
To my soul

In the silence of the nights
Drawing my inspiration from
The descending spirits of thoughts

Pouring out all my heart's
Secrets on parchment
Creating love and beauty

My thirsty soul
Writes from the heart of
The deity of of life

I refuse to shun
The empty ears

And yet, you do not
Know of me
And if you did, you would
You would love me

One day
I would rule your heart
And fill it with love
And beauty, simplicity and kindness
And then teach you how to triumph over the ages
Despite of it severity

I am a solitary figure
Who is unrecognized and
Still the people ignore me and my poetry

I am a Poet
Belonging to no poetry clans
But I find myself a stranger to
These communities

What destiny will I give
To the world at the end of
My struggles

Then listen not and
And leave me to my own
Weeping thoughts
For the world has ignore my poetry
