I Am From

I am from drugs and gangs
From friends getting hurt
I am from failed dreams
From dried tears
I am from scars across my body

I am from a broken family
From yelling and screaming
I am from hurt feelings
From broken bones
I am from scars across my body

I am from a new place
From wide fields
I am from new friends
From open feelings
I am from scars across my body

I am from lost friends
From new ones that take their place
I am from new dreams
From a new start
I am from scars across my body

I am from a new feeling
From love
I am from great friends
From opened feelings
I am from healed scars

I am from a new home
From better people
I am from new problems
From new solutions
I am from scars that have disappeared

piano;
