I Am Nothing Like The Moon Poem by Daya Nandan

I Am Nothing Like The Moon

I am nothing like the moon,
I will never be like it, not anytime soon,
It may be beautiful and stands out in the darkness of the night skies,
But it does absolutely nothing to calm mother earth’s hurtful cries
,

I am not like the moon,
I wont disappear every morning and afternoon,
the moon does not create its own light, it merely reflects the sun’s beams,
The moon goes by it’s orbit without any hopes and dreams,

The moon orbits planet earth without a choice,
The moon is dead and silent without a voice,
I am nothing like that i will create my own path,
I will create my own light and Illuminate the darkness around till my last breath,

I am not bound by gravity to walk in a single way,
I am not silent to fear, my mind, body and soul have words to say,
I am bound by nothing i am not to be ruled,
I know am born with limitless potential, i will not be fooled,

I will guide myself with the lessons of mother earth,
I will show the world what the power of the human mind is worth,
I will fight through the obstacles that life throws at my face,
Walk through the fires of hell until i find my rightful place,

I will become the light that stands out in the darkness of the world,
I will inspire the next generation, bring out potential of every boy and girl,
I will be the beacon of light that will always inspire,
I will give people hope i will be the light that people admire.
