I Believe Poem by DM W

I Believe

I believe in love that's constant:
That concentrates on the essential;
That doesn't seek to dazzle the eyes,
But that is comfortable in its own skin.

I believe in love that defies the solitude
Of the heart in its most frozen forms:
That sees beauty in joy & in sorrow;
That doesn't reduce the stars to atoms.

I believe in love that doesn't age:
That doesn't worship the fleeting moment.
But glows endlessly from within
With the assurance of warm communion

I believe in love that has faith
In the other's blossoming:
That is concerned with higher laws
Not with its own desiring.
