I Could Hear It In Your Voice Poem by Heather Z. Hanna

I Could Hear It In Your Voice

I could hear it in your voice
When you answered the phone.
A bit tired, a bit sad, a bit angry
A bit different.
When I met you later
You casually mentioned,
'Did I tell you that my friend died? '
Then I knew.
I could hear it in your voice.

(10.11.03 A Moment In Time) (for Jarry)
