I Cry For My Wife, Day And Night Poem by umaprosad das

I Cry For My Wife, Day And Night

Being alone, I cry for you day and night
Where are you, my dear, out of my sight?
You loved me, served me, and often you told
Feel no bored; so many around us are old

They also suffer, moreover, have no favor
We are lucky we have food and shelter
We need not toil on the soil day to day
Many, in this old age, labor hard for pay

You always consoled me by not being worried
I am beside you to help you in your every need
I became carefree, with disabilities, I was no sad
Fully surrendered to you for any good or bad

But who says God is kind to all, not so zealous
Couldn't bear our bond of love and so envious
He throttled my wife very tight, and she started
Struggling for food and breath, but she got defeated
