I Curse All Poets.. Poem by iqra hassan

I Curse All Poets..

I curse you Bukowski,
You ruined me.
Not merely your poems, but that laugh..
Teeth tainted with shamelessness
Peeking out of the habitat of intoxicants,
Even your radio had more guts than all my poems.
"All are trapped by a singular fate" you say,
And these words got locked
In some remote closet of that maiden..

And I curse you too Coleridge!
Whenever I read limbo, I ached for weed,
The drug that surely descended from heaven,
With miraculous powers which made you hex generations..
You say reason stands in transparent lands
Between God and us,
My reason however, is a seasoned whore,
It stands everywhere, in dark and darker.
I too sleep away my pain like you.

Oh I curse Anais too!
For laying open her enthralling, madness-dipped mind,
And coloring me rebel,
Drawing me into the house of incest.
I watch her when her eyes play
And stars pull her hair
Though I still believe they only sought the lyrics of life in those hair.

All the topics in the world are taken,
All the words in the dictionary being used,
Whatever could be written, has been written by the writers,
All the miseries and privileges are being expressed,
I grab my coffee and dwell upon this thought,
And I curse all poets,
All those who make me feel orthodox and lurid.
