In this part of the world
Its an unforgivable taboo for me to carry a pen or a book
Punishable by the spirits of our ancestors! !
They warn
Its an unimaginable abomination for me
To learn reading and writting
I can bring shame to my parents
So they claim
'Even the Quaran and the Bible forbades
it, 'they add
In this dark part of the world
They give no whit of attention
To hear out my concerns
My dreams are weightless
That i want to be a doctor or lawyer
Cracks their libs with a rumbling laughter
To them i am just a girl child
Ought to be mould and groomed
Into a wife material
And nothing more
