I Don't Want To Hear It Poem by Kevin Seales

I Don't Want To Hear It

People are complaining
That's all I hear today
To get their point across
There must be a better way

Don't want to hear you say
Help me, come bail me out
This government spending
Is making me scream and shout

I don't want to hear it
When you're at the casino
I don't want to hear it
When you're gambling in reno

I don't want to hear it
When your money's all gone
Who you gonna turn to
Who are you gonna con

People have been living
Way beyond their means
They buy a brand new car
Just so they can be seen

They can't afford the gas
So it sits in the driveway
Why can't they realize
There must be a better way

I don't want to hear it
When you buy your cigarettes
I don't want to hear it
When you lose your poker bets

I don't want to hear it
When you lose your precious home
Who you gonna turn to
When you're feeling all alone

This is a reminder
To think before you buy
Is this really necessary?
For my kids, when I die
