I Got To Say Goodbye Poem by Ray Hansell

I Got To Say Goodbye

When you lose someone
Someone that you love
You hope they are received
With opened arms above

You hope and pray that God
Has His arms opened wide
That He holds them so close
Knowing they just died

My heart is in much pain
I'm not sure what to do
My heart is open wide
Seeking guidance from you

She was older than I was
Born several years before me
But she had a special ay
To always help me see

That's what older sisters are for
The help the younger ones along the way
She did that and so much more
January ninth twenty nineteenth was her last day

I got the call at night
It froze me in my tracks
It seemed at that very moment
My mind went racing back

I remembered back in my youth
Different things I would do
She would always tell me
Don't worry, I won't tell on you

The years have passed us by
Like a jet in the sky
But at least I had the chance
To say, I love you and goodbye

Very descriptive poem. It shows how much pain and heartache has filled up your world. Loss of a loved one is one of the hardest thing to deal with. I hope faith in God help you to get thru this painful time.
