I Have A Daughter Poem by Michael P. Johnson

I Have A Daughter

I have a daughter bornagain
Who’s goal is finally won
She thought her life was run in vain
Until she found God’s Son

Until she drank The Morning Dew
Until she drank The Blood
Until she started life anew
And walked the way she should

Although some people think she’s strange
Quiet and void of grace
I see in her a wondrous change
That lights up all her face

I know I’m loved I know I’m blessed
Because I understand
That she and I will past life’s test
And reach The Promised Land

What have we done what have we said?
What thoughts could please our King?
That we should live who once were dead?
And have life’s song to sing

We’re full of joy we’re oozing love
We’ve peace beyond compare
Thank God for Christ our Lord above
Who gave such wealth to share

A mansion for this earthly tent
For each our heads a crown
Even our faith is Heaven sent
As is our wedding gown

If all the world could see inside
Could feel the things we feel
They’d see how much the devil’s lied
They’d see salvation’s real.
