I Know Poem by Angela Bontle Ditumiso

I Know

I know
You love me more than words can tell
I know
I could take the greatest love I mustered
Multiply it by a hundred
And it wouldn't surpass your love

I know
Your love is not like my own
It's not a river that dries
In drought, when clouds become
Selfish with their waters
It's not mist that disappears
At the sight of a fierce sun

I know
Your love is unconditional
You love me
You've loved me before
I acknowledged you
You loved me still
As I walked away from you

I know
You'll never leave nor forsake me
You'll forever be my home
And your door will always be open
