I Let You Go Poem by Noel Tupan

I Let You Go

Rating: 5.0

Felt a little ennui
As I waited for the midnight hour
Then I heard the footsteps
Drawing near towards the door
I heard no word but a sigh
Which a weary sign of goodbye

Then the sky beams
With the fireworks cracking
Painting the grayish sky
As the midnight-clock rings
It’s a new beginning

And I heard the door snapped
It may not so loud
To contend with the outside cracks
But to me who is in woe
It was a deafening sound

I gazed at the stifled door
And the shoeprints on the floor
Thinking to follow you
But, I never did
And so... I let you go

I let you go
I let you go
Leaving my heart in blue
But in melancholy I’d rather be
So your heart would be in glee
