I'll Listen To Your Song Poem by Soumen Chattopadhyay

I'll Listen To Your Song

You haven't sung the longer song
The ringing of the temple bell is heard
You're still in profound sleep

Go and sit at the morning portico
Pick up my old manuscript in your hand

I'll give you
All that is mine

Behold
The monochord is played at the evening—
In the wind of the daybreak

Now sing the longer song

So muddy is the body
Still I'll go towards the temple
And play the monochord

And hear the longer song from you

I'll Listen To Your Song
