I Love You (Not) Poem by Athena King

I Love You (Not)

Rating: 5.0

I love you.
I love you not with the muscled lump that provides me with the basis of life by propelling blood through my physical body.
I love you not with the fatty tissue encased by a hard skull that sends electricity and chemicals in internal communicational spasms.
I love you not in the blood-producing centers of my complex and beautiful calcium-based structural system.
I love you not with the parts of me that are capable of creating a whole new human with the help of one such as you.
I love you in the very center of my existence where I exist only as a watercolor ephemeral image that spirals with the galaxy that it will outlast in a dance that is made of great drifting motions.
I love you with the eternal parts of me that exist only beyond perception and time and knowledge.
I love you with the essence of who I am and I love the very same part of you.
