I'M Just Asking For A Smile Poem by Bernadeth Tolentino

I'M Just Asking For A Smile

Rating: 5.0

If there's one thing I could ask of you-
a hint of happiness is what I want to see.
I'm doing everything that I can do
to have you flying free.

From the cage you are kept,
it's only holding you back.
Too much tears that you have wept
A smile is all you lack.

So promise me one thing,
If only for a small while.
Even if it really stings,
I'm just asking for a smile.
