I Met God Today. Poem by Scott Schindler

I Met God Today.

I went to help my mother at work today.
After about an hour and a half,
Of on & off sleep on that olive green couch,
A man walked in.
An obviously homeless man.
But my mother buzzed him anyway (god bless her)

He approached the counter
My mother said 'Hi, how can I help you? '
He answered 'I'm god, and i've come to tell you.......'
I couldn't make out the last part.
(I later found out my mother couldn't either)

After a moment my mom asked cautiously,
'So how can I help you? '
He answered back 'You can't. Just wanted to tell you that i'm god'.
And then he turned away to walk out slowly.

There's no doubt in my mind that this man was crazy.
But my question is,
What did he come to tell her?
And if a person actually convinces he or herself that they are god,
no matter how miserable there life is,
will they still be happy?
I mean god's happy right?
