I Never Refer To Myself Poem by Francis Duggan

I Never Refer To Myself

Rating: 5.0

I never refer to myself as a poet
Nor am i one worthy of any literary note
This is something i have said quite often before
I write for enjoyment and little else more
I am just one of those who enjoys penning rhyme
It is something i have been doing for a long time
I wrote my first rhymes in nineteen seventy three
And it was my love of rhyme made a rhymer of me
On my twenty seventh year when my hair was dark brown
In my physical prime just west of Millstreet Town
On looking back the Seasons this is long ago
And time that rusts iron has become my foe
And though my best years in life in the forever gone
As one who loves rhyming i will keep on rhyming on.
