Although it's been so many years,
and time has passed me by
each face still fresh within my mind
best friends from a life gone by...
How young we were.. so full of life,
invincible we thought
from one adventure to the next
the thrill is what we sought...
Never thinking of the dangers,
or past our own today
never knowing of the cost
or prices.. yet to pay...
One by one.. as time ran out,
i began to question why
then realized the debt that's due
the price.. each mothers cry...
I ask the Lord this everyday,
how this could come to be
why i am here and they are not
were they so different from me...
Now as i sit here as a man,
and ponder on the past
memories.. as if yesterday
in my heart.. our friendships last...
And so a smile parts my lips,
and a tear falls from my eye
i owe this.. to each of you
i owe.. one last goodbye....
I Remember....

As we travel our lifetime journey....some people touch us briefly...just long enough to teach us a life lesson...then some people are 'forever' people...the one's that remain throughout our life journey...and sustain us through each lesson learned. A tribute to the past very well written. Always, Cathy
