I Shall Return Poem by Curtis Johnson

I Shall Return

Rating: 5.0

I Shall Return

I hear the sound of Autumn speaking to us all
As the leaves patiently wait to fall
And as summer is being recalled
At summer's end
She wears thin
She recalls the time when
It was her turn to begin
But now it is time for Autumn to descend
And summer sadly refuses to gracefully give in
As she, just for spite, releases a heat wave at the end
She means harm to none as she retired to her setting sun
Like aging and retiring ones, she often denis that she is done
When we acknowledge that it is not over but simply someone
Else's turn, we kindly move over, move on, realizing that our season
Shall indeed return.100219PoSoup
