I Sit Here Today. Poem by David Boyce

I Sit Here Today.

I sit here today.

I sit here today,
Looking up to the sky,
With wishful thinking,
And tears in my eyes.

I sit here quietly,
And begin to sigh,
Asking myself constantly,
O’ God Why, O’ Why?

I sit here alone,
Unable to concentrate,
With far too much time,
To even contemplate.

I sit here thinking,
How life would still be,
And you were not taken,
Away from me.
