I So Liked Spring - Poem by Charlotte Mary Mew

I so liked Spring last year
Because you were here;-
The thrushes too-
Because it was these you so liked to hear-
I so liked you.

This year's a different thing,-
I'll not think of you.
But I'll like the Spring because it is simply spring
As the thrushes do.

    Some of us have to be burned by life - and events brought into our lives by others - to learn that life is a study in loss - as you love greatly, so you will lose greatly, but the Great Book and the Divine message is nevertheless love. (Report) Reply
