I Strive To Be A Poet Poem by Phil Soar

I strive to be a poet
I have, since I was younger
No-one I know would know it
Or care much any longer
And so I write, and hope that I
Might see the comments flow
From people that I've known before
And those that I don't know
For me, the world is full of choice
And for those who share my rhymes
I hope you hear this wordsmiths voice
In these unworldly times
To think that far across the globe
Someone might read my rhymes

I strive to be a poet
And if I fail to be
I'll still be happy as I am
And for that, Forgive me
