I Was Smiling Poem by Richard Jarboe

I Was Smiling

I was crying,
But I forgot to tell my eyes,
I was upset,
With too many lies.

Now I'm smiling,
But I forgot to tell my face,
We're back together,
No one takes your place.

What was I thinking?
I forgot to tell my brain,
Storm clouds on the horizon,
But you and I remain.
