I Was Trapped, I Am Caged, I Will Be Free Poem by Jennifer Ann Kraengel

I Was Trapped, I Am Caged, I Will Be Free

Rating: 2.1

I am a caged bird,
confined and alone.
It is a true sign of captivity.
I am a gazelle attacked by a hungry lion,
trapped, with no chance of getting away.
I am a fish on a fishermen’s line,
caught and tying to survive.
It is a true sign of captivity.

But I will be a bird,
healed and released to freedom.
I will be a gazelle,
that got away to live another day.
I will be a fish,
that tricked the fishermen and disappeared.
And laugh in their faces.
