I Watered Kim-Mai Rose Garden During Hot Dry Week Poem by NHIEN NGUYEN MD

Air temperature rose to 95 degrees Fahrenheit this date.
I was at Kim Mai rose garden at 6: 00 o'clock in the morning
I was concerned that soil would dry up quickly with very hot air,
So, I watered rose garden just like giving it a good rain shower.
I watered each rose bush with one minute of running water
Which sufficed to soak the soil with five gallons of water.
Koi fish swam gently in my adjacent Koi ponds.
Hearing my footsteps, they splashed their tails for food.
In good mood, I sprayed water on pond surface
I shook water to imitate strings of rain falling from the sky.
Koi fish got so excited like children taking rain shower.
After a short shower, they waited for their first meal of the day.
Eastern horizon started to paint orange
While on western sky, moon hanged low and gradually dimmed away.

TÔI TƯỚI VƯỜN HỒNG KIM-MAI TUẦN NẮNG HANH

Hôm này, trời nóng chín lăm
Sáu giờ, tôi đã ra thăm vườn hồng.
Sợ rằng đất nóng mau khô
Vườn hồng tôi tưới như trời đổ mưa.
Mỗi cây tưới một phút lâu
Năm ga-lông nước ngấm sâu gốc hồng.
Hồ Koi cá nhẹ nhàng bơi
Nghe người bước tới, vẫy đuôi chờ mồi.
Vui tay tôi tưới mặt hồ
Vòi sen tôi lắc như trời mưa bay.
Cá vui như trẻ tắm mưa
"Tắm xong", cá đợi bữa ăn đầu ngày.
Trời đông chớm ửng mầu cam
Trời tây lơ lửng vầng trăng mờ dần.
