If All Were Free Poem by Michael P. Johnson

If All Were Free

If all on earth would see The Light
Would see the devil’s charms
We’d quit The living God to fight
And open Christ our arms

If all nations were free to hear
Were free to air their voice
Were free to walk devoid of fear
And make a personal choice

If all could live completely free
Could choose to whom we pray
Could unafraid bend Christ our knee
And walk His chosen way

Mankind could rise could give God praise
Accept The Lord as King
Could follow Jesus all our days
Life’s victory song to sing

Our hearts would see and understand
We’d play no longer fool
We’d give and take our neighbour’s hand
And Jesus Christ would rule

Upon God’s Word we all would feed
Seeking His face above
We’d see and meet each other’s need
Revealing Heaven’s love

United! We’d see demonic lies
Venturing free and sure
We’d walk in love till Paradise
Has opened wide her door

Ridding ourselves of foolish doubt
Differences cast aside
We’d sing with countless tongues devout
Beyond the last divide
