If I Were God Poem by Seun Bewaji

If I Were God

I wish I were God
and be in charge
channeling my life course
I wish to hold the rudder
when sailing through life

If I were God
I would avoid every height
Living all my life in d plain
I would fill every valley
choosing a stressless life

Before I sprout from here
I wish I had a choice
choosing where existence begin
I would have come from a land
That is fairer than the day

If I were God
I would have chose my cover
to avoid any contempt
I would have chose my stature
Just to subject others

But often I forget
That life is beyond existence
Things that are hidden
are real than existence
which vanish with time

Often I forget
That we are not formed
Or designed by the Immortal
Not to suit our taste
But His eternal plan
