If Only Poem by Pamela Bianca Mas

If Only

Rating: 5.0

As I heard this song
Which reminded me of you
My lips formed a smile

When the chorus played
Melancholy struck me hard
It's all in my mind

When compared to them
Romeo and Juliet
Does not stand a chance

We could be better
If you will be asking me
I'd say we're the best

We need only chance
If we just made it happen
If only we tried

But we never did
We gave up so easily
A shame isn't it?

All that's left are if's
Making a happy ending
That we'll never have

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Sad, isn't it? Having the opportunity to start something wonderful and throwing it away. It breaks my heart over and over again. This is to the things that could've been best if given a chance or two. If only.
