If Something Happens Poem by Alfred Ramos

If Something Happens

If something happens that you cannot explain
Like a warm summer rain
Cleansing the air
Cleansing all despair
If you knew the answer, what would you gain?
If something happens that you cannot explain
Like the crash of a bullet train
Where hundreds die
And millions cry
If you knew the answer, would it ease the pain?
If something happens that you cannot explain
Putting your relationship in a strain
Lies behind you back
Love falling off the track
If you knew the answer, would it clean up the stain?
If something happens that you cannot explain
Why you walk around in a ball and chain
Thoughts of regret
Pain you want to forget
If you knew the answer, would it do any good to complain?
Life has many questions
Like many unread suggestions
Running around inside your head
They are better left unsaid
The intentions in your soul
Can ricochet out of control
Let’s hope we live to see another day
Just like the one that got away
If something happens that you cannot explain
Like shooting stars falling like rain
You can’t believe your eyes
As a dream quickly dies
If you knew the answer, it would drive you insane
