If You Can't Be Good Poem by Richard Wlodarski

If You Can't Be Good

Rating: 5.0

If you can't be good...
Why awaken
To sun rising
Impregnating...

Why breathe in
Showering
Negating
All that's bad

If you can't be good...
Why smell the roses
Dance in the rain
Fight restraint

Why see the light
In the shadow
Smell sweet victory
In adversity

If you can't be good...
Why hear the sound
Of cosmic music
And not fall asleep

Why taste sweetness
In bitterness
When life's beautiful
Nothing's a cesspool

Why do you explore sweetness in bitterness? This is a great question Richard but many times we fail to comprehend the intention of a person. Everyone has his own philosophy.

Sincere thanks for reaffirming for me mine own philosophy. In these times, it's sometimes tough to remain optimistic. And so many THX for adding my poems to your favourites. Always very flattering and humbling!

Tasting the good with the bad. Fortunately, or unfortunately, that's tasting life! Dillip, I was born to be an optimist. And an optimist...I will always stay!
