If You'Re Out There, Can You Hear Me? Poem by Emily Torres

If You'Re Out There, Can You Hear Me?

she sits awaiting her future
counting down the seconds for change
for she is sick of this earth shes forced to stand apon
trying to enjoy the beauty
trying to find her smile
but shes forced to see disaster
forced to fake a laugh
who is she to deny her father
only a daughter living in hard times
giving up on the book which is supposed to have all answers
giving up on the stories of the past
where is he now?
has he given up on her?
she needs him to show himself
and help her believe
'please Mr. Powerful
please give mercy to me
for i am only a leaf on your tree
help me see the light
help me find the peace
give me the water to
so maybe i can have a seed.
grow a tree as great as yours
and have leafs of my own.
but im slowly wiltering away
into the nothing that you own....'
