If You Think You're Unlucky Poem by Emmanuel Joseph Olumakiss

If You Think You're Unlucky

If you think you're unlucky be still
Otherwise take a sleeping pill
For no burden can be as big as mine
Severally I've drown in river Nile

My helpers I thought were near
But when I called none could give a listening ear
I haven't regain from on going ransom
Living in this world isn't worrisome?

Most occasion I've chosen to freeze
To recount the things that have stolen my peace
A lot I've seen running through my mind
Adversity has kept me for long on this stand

Years I've seen fade
Destinies have slept unawake
That that make people proud
Have suddenly been taken unannounced

Thousands a lot dwell in their heart
Grievances many wore like hat
The ones life has often overtaken
And many it seems hardship has thoroughly beaten.
