Illiterate Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Illiterate

Illiterate

Standing in waiting
-the bell rings
-'Danger' is what it means

Light goes off
-it arrives…

On her face
-below two eyebrows
-Two sockets host the eyes

Is petite as if child
-below or early teens
-is in size, but far more
-seventy to eighty

With white hair …
-a Chinese old woman
-is laughing…laughing mad
-happily confused…deeply sad

Scary…
-film noir…

I see her
-lost in box
-as if ant or fly
-inside a honey jar

Unaware of buttons on wall-side
-she had pushed the wrong one…
-seeking help
-not knowing up and down

'Illiterate is blind! ! ! '
-said people in my town
-I agree; I agree; I agree

Illiterate is blind
-as she to the signals
-of the life brought in…
