I'm staring at my garden
So many colours
Stirring emotions
A background of green
Overhanging trees create shade
Greens of many hues
The dogs underneath the conifers
Away from the bright sun
Coffee in hand, I wait
For the dragonfly to return
I have no pond
But it flitters around as if on speed
Activity everywhere
Except for where I sit
Movement dictates what I see
The eyes take in the scene
Returning the images to the brain
Stirring emotions again
I sit and hope they remain
