In Another Place At Another Time Poem by David Harris

In Another Place At Another Time

In another place
at another time,
we might have made it as a twosome,
but the time is now
and the place is here
and we do not belong together.

Both of us have lives
that walk different roads,
meeting is a collision course
that neither of us want to know,
but had it been in another place
at another time, maybe.

We smile at one another,
but that is as far as it goes,
it cannot go any further
of that, we both know.
We are tied to what we have
and can never let that go.
