In Praise Of Nobility (Thirteen) Poem by Rubaba Mmahajia Rahma Sabtiu

In Praise Of Nobility (Thirteen)

Shame on you who kill that little boy
Woe to you who shoot this small girl
Are the minor ones not pure at heart?
Could you answer to this innocence?
The day when deep down you go
Is this not cowardice?
Are you not then a weakling?
Are they not children, Muslims
Following the path of a man
A man loved, noble, blessed
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
Holding the little boy in his blessed hands
Tears from his noble eyes had flowed
Why is this Yaa Rasuul of Allah
So a companion eager to learn had asked
Mercy! Mercy! Mercy!
This is mercy! This is mercy! This is mercy!
That feeling that Allah put in the heart
And he was one best in character
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
His teeth sparkled as he smiled
Smile for even that is charity
So he taught them and us and they
Help the oppressed and the oppressor too
The oppressed, yes but how the oppressor?
Curious minds ready to learn have wondered
Yes, even the oppressor you must help
Discourage him! Stop him from oppressing the oppressed
So the noble voice had taught
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
The best of you is he who is best to his family
The one who takes responsibility in full
And never did his hand hit a woman
Did he not his household help?
Had he not to his wives been the best?
Off the podium he had come
For a child to him run
Talk about humility, talk about him
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
Why then this arrogance and impudence?
Are you better or he?
Why this hard and ugly heartedness?
Are you better or he?
Would you not to your family show care?
Are you better or he?
Why this frown and this crime?
Are you better or he?
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
If you have no shame, do your worse
If you have no shame, throw this spear
If you have no shame, fly this earth
If you have no shame, fill this soul with sorrow
If you have no shame, tear up this body
If you have no shame, do not die
No! No! Do not dare die!
If you have no shame, live forever
For death could be the beginning of regrets
The noble one to us forewarned
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
This is the nobility about which I sing
This is the nobility I live to praise
This is the nobility whose love drunken me
This is the nobility I wish to see
This is the nobility I pray to touch
Salaam and Rahma upon him should rain
