In The Beginning - In Memoriam: Izak De Villiers Poem by Charl JF Cilliers

In The Beginning - In Memoriam: Izak De Villiers

In the beginning was the word
coalescing round a spark of light.
In the beginning was the word.

And so dense was the spark of light
that it grew dark:
so dense was the spark of light.

And so immense the darkness grew
that it filled the void:
so immense the darkness grew.

And the void was filled with darkness
bursting from the spark of light:
and the void was filled with darkness.

Bursting from the spark of light
in the beginning was the word:
bursting from the spark of light.

In the beginning filled with light
the first word grew in the void:
in the beginning filled with light.
