In The Now Poem by Francis Duggan

In The Now

We live in the now and yesterday has gone
And tomorrow will dawn and life will go on
And for some people this will be their final day
We are born to die life works in this way
That the soul will live on when the body does die
Is a truism to many but to some is a lie
Yet most of those who believe in an afterlife fight for their last living breath
They must harbour some doubt since they greatly fear death
Though time on your life ever ticking away
Feel grateful to wake from your sleep every day
Of a life after death the doubt in many remain
There are things beyond human beings for to explain
We are born as mortals when all is said and done
And tomorrow will dawn but not for everyone.
