In The Rain Poem by Alyssa Marquardt

In The Rain

Rating: 5.0

Sneakers bounce against the wet, paved street.
Mysterious land-
That will never take me down the right path.
Wet hair against my back
I wonder what mysteries I'll meet.

This is the only time
I feel strength of any kind.
My pace begins to race
Heart pounding with strength
My arms swing in every direction,
I feel my body moving towards the light.
Still, I wish I was home

Listening to the rain's sweet song,
Makes my aching heart feel full
Because his silent lyrics
Match the ones in my soul

As his waters blur my sight
My thoughts
Become so clear
His waters hold me tight as we feel each other’s tears.

Tiny rainbows
fill
my black and white world.

Tears drip from the tree tops,
And I can see I'm not alone.

I Finally
Find
Comfort.

In the rain.
