In The Sequoia Valley Poem by james watkin

In The Sequoia Valley

Chroniclers, century-stepping Time
In stylus fashion, who trace
Have, as we know, put down roots
Imperious in this place.

Each secretes his comission well
Until felled, spilling out
Of what's encased, cylindrical;
Murderous-streaked throughout.
